Simple Man Morning Show, NL Artists Morning Show

Tom Pinsent was born and raised in Grand Falls-Windsor where he went to school and graduated with a high school diploma from St. Michael’s High School.

After high school he played with the local band Union Street for a number of years until he decided to join the Canadian Armed Forces and served 11 years at Canadian Forces Base Gagetown in New Brunswick, Canadian Forces Recruiting Center in St. John’s, and Canadian Forces Base Shearwater in Nova Scotia before leaving the service at the rank of Sergeant.

While in the service he completed the requirements for a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax and also has a Bachelor of Education (Post-Secondary) from Memorial University of Newfoundland. He has worked at the College of the North Atlantic in Grand Falls Windsor as a Business Instructor since 1992.

Tom has always had music close to his heart playing numerous groups such as Union Street, Brown Sugar, Landslide, and a few bands in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. In 2014, he released his first album of original music called GT’s Lounge and in 2017 his second album Living Chains was released.

Tom appreciates different types and styles of music but his preference is steeped in classic rock bands like Bad Company, Deep Purple, Eric Clapton, and others.

Tom is host of the Simple Man Morning Show which is broadcast on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 10 AM – Noon.
